A 26 Years old man, who was formerly based in Lagos State before relocating to Gishiri in Abuja and an indigene of Igbodo, in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State; Mr. Obiokor Kingsley, has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police for allegedly engaging in homosexual act with one Collins, a criminal offence punishable by 14 years imprisonment and also abhorred in Igbodo Community as an abomination and a taboo.

In a statement released by the Divisional Police Public Relations Officer of the Umunede Police Divisional Headquarters, Assistant Superintendent Chikodi Anthony, on January 7, 2015, stated that Mr. Obiokor Kingsley, is wanted by the Police for allegedly engaging in homosexuality which contravenes the Nigerian Laws.

He disclosed that his unfortunate sex partner, Mr. Collins, who confessed their abominable act during interrogation by the Police in Gishiri – Abuja; was apprehended after he was beaten to coma by some angry mob. Continuing, he stated that upon recovery, Mr. Collins, was tried and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

Investigation into the matter showed that Mr. Obiokor, has been involved in the act with his gay sex partner, Okoh Collins, for a long time from Lagos State where they were first arrested by the Nigeria Police Division of Lagos State, before nemesis caught up with them on that faithful day. It was alleged that the intimacy between the duo towards each other which was said to be uncommon in a same sex relationship, aroused the suspicion of the neighbours to suspect the unusual bond between them which later proved to be true as nemesis caught up with them on this faithful day,

Speaking in a telephone conversation with Ika Weekly Newspaper reporter, a neighbour of Mr. Obiokor Kingsley an indigene of Lagos State, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that he and Mr. Obiokor, has been living in the same compound as tenants for almost one year, but started seeing Collins, around the neighbourhood about Six months ago, told Ika Weekly that he was there when some men of the Nigeria Police Force caught Mr. Obiokor Kingsley and his gay boyfriend Okoh Collins, at the bus stop close to where they were living. In his word he said, “initially we never knew why they were arrested, but upon further enquiries we got the news that they were arrested on the suspicion of being partners in Homosexual relationship. After his release from the Police custody in Lagos State, Mr Obiokor Kingsley, relocated to Gishiri – Abuja.

Speaking further the source revealed that after the authorities of the Nigerian Government passed the homosexual law, the Nigeria Police swung into action in search of those who are involved in homosexuality and those known to be Gays or Lesbians. The Police Officers went to a well known Gay, who happens to be a close associate of Mr. Obiokor Kingsley; on getting there there they met other gay partners like Mr. Obiokor Kingsley, where they shared common interest and lived together. Continuing, the source disclosed that during the process of the arrest Kingsley managed to escape through the whisker.

In the words of the Assistant Superintendent of the Police, “We are out for Mr. Obiokor Kingsley, and we are not going to relent until he is apprehended to face the full wrath of the law”. He enjoined the general public to come forward with any useful information that could lead to the arrest of Mr. Kingsley, stating that a handsome reward awaits any person who provides useful information that may lead to his arrest.

It was gathered that a man hunt was placed on Mr. Kingsley, as a result of which he fled from Gishiri – Abuja, and escaped to his home town Igbodo, in Febuary 2014.

It was further gathered that in December 2014, after getting signals from the Abuja Divisional Police Headquarters, regarding the gravity of the offence he committed which prompted him being declared wanted by the Police Authorities; the Police at Umunede Divisional Police Headquarters in Delta State, swung into action in synergy with their colleagues at Igbodo Police Station; and invaded Mr. Obiokor Kingsley’s father’s compound at Igbodo, on 2nd December, 2014, in order to get him arrested.

However, upon arrival at his residence, Kingsley’s Father who was very angry with the abominable act of his son took the Police Officers to Isaiah Camp, a farm settlement where he was reliably informed that his son had hidden himself and taken refuge; but unfortunately there was no trace of Kingsley, as he was nowhere to be found; making the search for his arrest to end in futility and since then he has not been seen or heard of by anyone; while the manhunt to get him arrested by the Nigeria Police Force to face the wrath of the law is also being intensified.
